Quehenberger Logistics is now responsible for the distribution for a total of 360 LIBRO and PAGRO stores in Austria. In this way the Salzburg company expands its market position with large trade chains.

From September on, Quehenberger Logistics takes over the entire transport management of the MTH-Handelsgruppe as an external service provider, MTH has 240 LIBRO stores and 120 PAGRO stores in Austria. The logistics service provider together with the MTH-Handelsgruppe elaborated a tailor-made concept for the individual retail transport solutions in the newly built MTH central warehouse in Müllendorf near Eisenstadt. Mag. Thomas Zechner, managing director of LIBRO Handelsgesellschaft mbH, is happy about the collaboration: "Quehenberger Logistics is a reliable partner whose Austria-wide network and long-term experience in the logistics for trading companies ensure highest delivery quality and punctuality. This is indispensable for our daily business."

Whereas the transports have so far been handled by different partners and were controlled by the logistics divisions of LIBRO and PAGRO, the transport management is now provided by Quehenberger Logistics by 100 percent. "Our solution is based on our comprehensive expertise in the retail business", says Christian Fürstaller, CEO of the AUGUSTIN QUEHENBERGER GROUP. "Together with MTH we tailored the project individually to their requirements in order to guarantee an optimal solution."

Professional handling on site

Up to 65 swap bodies every day equipped with exchangeable advertisements are loaded by the Quehenberger Logistics employees and delivered to the stores within the agreed time frames. The delivery is effected according to an individual tour concept. Among other things, it makes use of the area-covering groupage freight network of Quehenberger Logistics with seven regional transshipment locations in Austria. In this way it possible to ensure that the delivery times and dates are met as well as that the goods are picked up and delivered as fast as possible. During the delivery, returns and empty loading equipment like trolleys are taken back and administered by Quehenberger Logistics. By means of the sophisticated tour planning, it is also possible to compensate seasonal fluctuations with different capacity peaks and to reduce the costs. In order to ensure a professional and trouble-free handling, five employees of the Salzburg logistics service provider are on site who are, among other things, responsible for the planning, supervision, vehicle control and loading of 700 trolleys or 500 pallets per day. In this way, the employees of LIBRO and PAGRO can focus on the optimisation of the overall logistics.
