On September 13th 2018, the first MAN eTGMs were handed over to the representatives of nine members of the Austrian Council for Sustainable Logistics (CNL) at the production site of MAN in Steyr. This is at the same time the start for field trials, which now take place under authentic conditions in the logistics and transport life of the member companies of CNL Quehenberger Logistics, Stiegl Brewery, HOFER, METRO, Magna Steyr, Schachinger Logistik, Gebrüder Weiss, REWE and SPAR.

With a range of up to 130 kilometers, the eTruck is used at Quehenberger Logistics for store distribution in Salzburg. All findings drawn from the field tests are the basis for eTruck follow-up projects and the subsequent series development of MAN’s eTruck.

This cooperation marks a milestone to electrification of urban distribution, where zero emissions and low noise are playing an increasingly important role.
