Traffic safety foundation
In Croatia Quehenberger employees started a project whose purpose and focal point are bigger than the moment.
Here is what it is about:
On the 26th of June 2021 a Quehenberger employee from Croatia lost his only child in a car accident. Petra Jerković, a 19-year old girl was hit by a motorcyclist on a marked pedestrian crossing. The motorcyclist had no driving license, was driving without a helmet and was under the influence of alcohol.
One step was crucial here and that one step meant an end for Petra. Quehenberger Logistics Croatia felt the call and the need to draw attention to everyday traffic situations and to preserve the memory of the tragically deceased Petra.
To a lasting memory of Petra, but also many others who passed away due to negligence in traffic, the foundation called "Petrin korak" ("Petra`s step") is established by Quehenberger Logistics Croatia. The activities of the foundation itself will relate to the effective education of young drivers, the development of their culture in road traffic, the reduction of casualties of the most vulnerable and the prevention of traffic accidents.
Many famous names from the regional public and the social life supported the work of the newly established foundation for Traffic Safety "Petrin korak" and on the 23rd of November 2021, on the day of Petra´s birthday, a song in honor has been released on all eminent Croatian TV and radio stations followed by interviews with the story of Petra, as well with billboards showing logo and call-to-action words.
