GEIS NEWS
The Geis Group is strategically developing the general cargo processes of the Gras Group in the Middle Rhine region: Starting March 16th, 2026, the operational general cargo business from Neuwied will be consolidated at the existing Polch location – in the newly constructed transshipment terminal at the Polch Logistics Campus. Neuwied will remain the administrative headquarters of the Gras Group.
By consolidating operational processes, internal interfaces will be reduced, and duplicate transshipments and shuttle services between the locations, which are only 30 kilometers apart, will be avoided. At the same time, transport costs for both local and long-distance transport can be optimized through better capacity utilisation, and process costs, such as those associated with equipment usage, can be reduced.
The freight forwarding terminal at the Polch Logistics Campus, which was recently commissioned, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers more than 6,000 square meters of transshipment space. This provides Polch with the ideal foundation for maximum efficiency, quality, and stability. Furthermore, the terminal is directly connected to the 75,000-square-meter logistics center – perfect conditions for seamless processes and short distances.
