Smart solutions

All over the world city centers suffer from traffic congestion. Therefore new solutions for so-called "Smart Cities" are coming up. Cities like Munich, Singapore, Barcelona, Toronto and Arizona are the pioneers in this regard.

A new variant of city logistics is being developed in Munich as part of the EU project ZEUS (Zero Emission off-peak Urban Deliveries). The focus is on delivering to the retail stores in off-peak times with electrically powered trucks. This improves punctuality and predictability and leads to time savings of 15 to 30 percent.

A smart eco-city is also emerging in the west of Singapore with a car-free city center, medical facilities, a sports center and an integrated community center. Roads and parking spaces for e-cars will be relocated beneath the city center.

Sustainable and digital mobility concepts for city-logistics are indispensable.
